Pro-American South Koreans Fighting Back

My name is Daniel. I was an English teacher in Seoul, South Korea, and am now a writer who has
published three books including South Korea: Our Story by Daniel Nardini.
It has become obvious that a growing number of South Koreans have had enough
with current President Moon Jae-in and the rampant lies and distortions of the South Korean political left.
dozens of South Koreans held a pro-American rally outside of Camp Red Cloud to show their support for
the U.S. armed forces stationed in South Korea, the deployment of THAAD, and most important that the
current government does not speak for them. I have a feeling that more such demonstrations and protests
will be occurring in the future. I am happy to see this one and others that will eventually happen. I have also
noted that some South Korean journalists are not happy with the decisions being made by the Moon Jae-in
administration. The English language South Korean newspaper, Korea Herald, was rather critical of Moon’s
policies in regards to North Korea. Clearly, pro-American South Koreans can see that Moon’s policies of
appeasing North Korea is doing nothing for the peace and security of South Korea or any other country for
that matter. As Moon talks about having less military exercises between the U.S. and South Korea, North
Korea is clearly perfecting its missile weapons program and its nuclear weapons program. A growing number
of South Koreans realize that unconditionally giving what North Korea demands is appeasement, and it
clearly is not working. I hope and encourage more South Koreans to fight for protecting their country,
their freedoms and for keeping their country sovereign and independent in solidarity with the United
States and all those opposed to aggression from North Korea.
