Cancellation of the Summit a Good Thing!

My name is Daniel. I was an English teacher in Seoul, South Korea, and am now a writer who has
published four books including South Korea: Our Story by Daniel Nardini.
U.S. President Donald Trump has cancelled the meeting between him and
North Korrean leader Kim Jong-un. Personally, I am glad the meeting was cancelled. It was very
clear that North Korera had no intention of giving up its nuclear weapons and wanted free
goodies in return for nothing. We have seen this show before. Former North Korean ruler Kim
Jong-il destroyed the facilities at Yongbyon only to put them back into operation years later at
a time of his choosing. Even now, Yongbyon is producing weapons’ grade plutonium. Since the
North Koreans did not include this in any deal with getting rid of nuclear weapons, then what
was the point of any meeting?! The Libya model is the best and surest means of making sure that
North Korea has no nuclear weapons. This is what both the United States and the United Nations have
been demanding of North Korea for years.  And until North Korea complies with all demands, then
all sanctions against North Korea should be kept in place. And personally speaking it does not matter
which American President has said “no” to North Korea. In my view, North Korea developed
nuclear weapons without authorization from the United Nations, has broken any and all treaties with the
United Nations, and deserves nothing for its bad behavior. End of argument.
